American Career College – ACC’s associate degree program in Surgical Technology lasts 20 months and covers surgical techniques, OR fundamentals, patient care, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and other medical topics, plus psychology, math and career planning skills. The program is available to students in southern California.

Brown Mackie College – This career college’s program is offered in Ohio, Idaho, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia and Oklahoma, and covers basic surgical techniques as well as anesthesia, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.

Everest College – Everest’s program instructs students on areas like antiseptic techniques, instrumentation, patient positioning, pharmacology, medical terminology and CPR, among others. The program is offered in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana and Utah.

High-Tech Institute – Hi-Tech offers a diploma and an associate’s degree in surgical technology. Keiser Career College – The associate’s degree program at Keiser can be completed in 20 months full-time, or 30 months part-time. It covers general health care topics, general surgical techniques and specialized surgical techniques, plus GE courses in math, science and communications. The program includes an externship, and is available to students in Florida.

McCann School of Business and Technology – The Surgical Tech associate degree at McCann includes instruction in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, ethics and medical terminology, training students for entry-level employment as a Surgical Tech, circulating surgical tech or second assisting tech. The program is available in Pennsylvania.

Miller-Motte Technical College – The Surgical Technology associate’s degree at Miller-Mott teaches students to maintain asepsis in a surgical setting, including instruction on sterile items, instrument handling, and preparing the patient and the operating room for procedures.

National College – This associate’s degree program is offered to students in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana. New England Institute of Technology – New England Tech’s associate degree program in surgical technology prepares graduates for entry-level work in settings such as hospital operating rooms, obstetrical departments, outpatient surgical centers and surgeon office practices. The 18-month program covers basic health care courses like pharmacology, anatomy and physiology as well as advanced courses like surgical procedures and surgical instrumentation. This program is accredited by CAAHEP.

Rasmussen College – Rasmussen’s associate degree program covers subjects like medical terminology, pathology, microbiology and pharmacology, as well as surgical procedures and surgical tech practicum. It also touches on career success strategies. The program is offered in Minnesota.

Sanford-Brown Institute – This college’s Surgical Technology program is available at several campuses in Florida, Texas, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The program focuses on anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, surgical pharmacology, microbiology, surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and the legal components of surgical technology.

Stevens-Henager College – The 20-month associate’s degree program at Stevens-Henager covers basic health courses such as anatomy, physiology and medical terminology, as well as general and specialized surgical procedures. The program also offers general health care career skills such as computerized medical administration and management principles. The program is offered to students in Utah.

Virginia College – The Surgical Technologist diploma program at Virginia College is available at the school’s Mobile, Alabama location, where instructors teach proper sterile surgical techniques and operating room technology through hands-on and classroom-based instruction. The school also offers an associate degree program to students in South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Texas and Georgia. Both programs end in an externship at an area surgical clinic.
