‘Bagel Head’ Saline Injections are the New Trend

The Japanese body modification circuit has taken another unique twist. No longer content with bad teeth, the stylish elite in Japan are opting for a new forehead injection some have dubbed ‘Bagel Head.’

It starts with a technician inserting a needle into their forehead and injecting about 400 cc of saline (enough to cause a huge protrusion the size of a Krispy Kreme Donut). The technician then presses his thumb in the middle of the saline lump causing it to distort into the shape of a bagel. The end result is a stunning look that’s oddly similar to that guy from ‘To Serve Man.’

If this seems odd to you, don’t worry – you’re not alone. But apparently it’s now all the rage.

Keroppy, a pioneer of the mod-con body art movement explains it like this, “People who like extreme body modification want to find their own way of doing things, and they’re always looking for new ways to do that. The more progressive the scene gets, the more these people have to experiment and go their own way.”

But don’t worry. If your kids show up sporting a giant bagel on their face, it’s not permanent. The body absorbs the excess saline in about 16 hours leaving almost no residual marks.
